Iran divests state shares worth $481.2m

TEHRAN- Since the beginning of the present Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2016), 18.6 trillion rials (about $481.2 million) worth of Iranian state-run shares has been transferred to the private sector, IRIB news reported.

From the announced figure, 2.27 trillion rials (about $58.7 million) of shares have been offered to the private sector via Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE), 522 billion rials (about $13.5 million) via Iran's over-the-counter (OTC) market, known also as Iran Fara Bourse (IFB), and 15.8 trillion rials (about $408.7 million) have been put into tender.

Iranian state-run companies transferred 29.662 trillion rials (about $767.4 million) worth of their shares to the private sector in the past Iranian calendar year of 1394 (which ended on March 19, 2016).

The country transferred 47.738 trillion rials (about $1.235 billion) worth of shares of state-run companies to the private sector in the calendar year of 1393, reportedly.
